Our People

Dr Mary Ellen Harrod
Chief Executive

‍Mary has been NUAA’s Chief Executive since 2015. Her strong leadership, management and strategic direction for service excellence empowers the NUAA team to deliver their best for NUAA, its membership and all people who use or have used drugs across NSW. Representing NUAA in a variety of forums, including state-level drug and alcohol and blood borne virus committees, Mary’s strong commitment to social justice and human rights underpins her advocacy for people who use drugs in NSW.

When not swimming or working Mary likes to sew, meditate, do yoga and is currently trying to get back into riding her bicycle. She has two sons, two cats and an (occasionally mischievous) bunny.
