NUAA's Postal Needle and Syringe Program

NUAA posts free injecting equipment, naloxone, and harm reduction supplies anywhere in New South Wales. There's no walk-in NSP — everything is ordered online and mailed discreetly to you in plain, unmarked packaging.

We dispatch orders within 2 business days. Order online any time through our NSP shop, or get in touch if you need a hand.

How to order

Order online — browse the range and place your order through the NSP Online Shop. It's the fastest way and shows everything currently in stock.

Need help? Call NUAA on (02) 9171 6650 or email postalnsp@nuaa.org.au and we'll talk you through it.

Orders are sent in plain packaging with no reference to NUAA or the contents on the outside.

Shipping

A flat $20 shipping fee applies to all orders, including naloxone.

Free shipping for regional and rural NSW. If your postcode is outside the metro area, your shipping is free automatically at checkout.

We know cost can be a barrier. If you're finding the shipping fee difficult, please get in touch — call (02) 9171 6650 or email postalnsp@nuaa.org.au — and we'll work something out. We never want cost to stop you getting what you need.

Naloxone — reverse an opioid overdose

Naloxone is a medication that temporarily reverses an opioid overdose. We post it across NSW as part of the Take Home Naloxone program.

Before we can send naloxone, you'll need to complete the free online naloxone course. This is a requirement of the program and only takes a short time. Once you've completed it, order naloxone through the NSP shop along with the rest of your order.

The flat $20 shipping fee applies to naloxone orders.

What we post

Our full, current range is always on the NSP Online Shop — that's the only place that reflects what's actually in stock right now. Broadly, we carry:

  • Syringes — fixed needle-and-syringe units in a range of gauges and volumes (Terumo, Embecta, and Unisharp brands).

  • Needles and tips — detachable tips across the full gauge range, including drawing-up tips.

  • Barrels — 1ml through 20ml, in both luer-lock and slip-on, including larger barrels.

  • Wing infusion sets (butterflies / wings).

  • Filtration — sterifilts and wheel filters.

  • Ancillary and harm reduction supplies — sterile water, alcohol swabs, cotton wool, stericups and maxicups and tourniquets.

  • Naloxone (see above).

Some items have order limits and a few may be temporarily out of stock — the shop shows current availability and any limits at checkout.

Prefer to visit in person?

NUAA no longer runs a walk-in NSP. If you'd like face-to-face service, Kirketon Road Centre in Kings Cross provides needle and syringe services — open Monday to Friday, 9:30am–1:30pm.

You can also find an NSP anywhere in NSW using the NSW Health outlet finder.

Disposing of used equipment: Most NSPs accept returned sharps. If you come across discarded sharps in the community, call the NSW Needle Clean Up Hotline on 1800 633 353.
