NUAA's 6th Peers and Consumers (PaC) Forum is scheduled for October 22-23.

Merging Worlds: Intersections of Identity and Experience. The PaC Forum 2024 is about bringing together diverse communities of people with lived and living experience of drug use to share our stories and learn from one another. It is a chance to celebrate what makes us unique while finding common ground and building stronger bonds.

The PaC Forum is a unique opportunity for peers and consumers to connect, network and learn. It’s about getting involved, sharing information and growing in confidence to advocate and organise within our own communities.

The PaC Forum has always been a chance to elevate the voices, concerns and needs of people who use and have used drugs and this year we want to take it one step further with our theme – Merging Worlds: Intersections of Identity and Experience. Together, let’s learn, upskill, and connect. We are excited to use this opportunity to celebrate our differences, build stronger bonds, and plan for a future that empowers everyone in the community.

Anyone who hopes to raise the voice of people who use drugs and increase the involvement of consumers and peers in health service delivery should think about attending, including:

  • Peers / people who use drugs;

  • Anyone who uses alcohol and drug services;

  • Peer and consumer workers in AOD or harm reduction services;

  • Community volunteers in AOD or harm reduction services;

  • Frontline staff and managers in the AOD sector;

  • Researchers with an interest in community responses to AOD; or

  • Policymakers and funders.

We’re also looking for more panellists to apply! Panels at the forum will include people with a lived experience of using drugs, as well as professional health partners. If you’re interested or want more info, email us at nuaa@nuaa.org.au
