Needle & Syringe Program

NUAA’s Needle and Syringe Program (NSP), located at 345 Crown St, Surry Hills, is open every weekday for you to access new injecting equipment or drop off used equipment. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:30pm and Saturday 10am-3pm (no breaks!). There is a machine outside the front to help you access equipment outside of these hours. The machine costs $2 and supplies 3x1ml Syringes, water, cotton, spoon, and swabs.

NUAA’s NSP supplies a wide range of injecting equipment not regularly supplied at most NSPs. Click here to see a full list what we have on offer, or call the NSP direct on (02) 8354 7343 or free call 1800 644 413. Our NSP is staffed by peers — people with lived experience of injecting drug use, so they are knowledgeable and non-judgemental. Speak to NSP staff if you have any questions about equipment carried by NUAA. All equipment is supplied free of charge. We can also mail equipment out on a cost recovery basis if you are unable to get to an NSP.  If you have any questions, or for mail orders, please call the NSP on (02) 8354 7343, free call 1800 644 413 or email lucyp@nuaa.org.au.

The NSP is also now home to a Open Clinic on Crown, a nurse-led primary health care clinic that is a collaboration of NUAA and the Kirketon Road Centre. It aims to contribute to providing affordable, accessible and equitable health care to all parts of our community, for its current opening hours please call (02) 8354 7343.
