Thinking About Drug Treatment? What are my options?

In Australia, there are a number of different types of drug treatment options available. Before you decide what treatment is best for yourself, you should consider:

  • How long you have been using drugs and whether you have a physical dependence or psychological dependence.
  • Whether  your use is causing you harm either physically, financially or socially.
  • Whether you have other health conditions that are being exacerbated your drug use.

These are all important issues to take into account when considering what type of treatment would best suit you. You may need a combination of different types of treatment.

There are a number of different treatment options for drug treatment. Your GP or a drug and alcohol worker should be able to help you out with information about what treatments work best and what treatment is right for you.
